Performing asanas (postures) in the ropes is known as Yoga Kurunta, named after a puppet. This form of yoga provides support and alignment for a wide range of asanas – forward bends, standing poses, backbends, inversions and twists. In this second ropes workshop on Sunday 7 April 2024 (8-10.30am), we’ll explore different set ups and sequencing using the ropes to work dynamically and restoratively. We’ll learn about the history of Kurunta Yoga which has been a central feature of Iyengar Yoga teaching since B.K.S. Iyengar introduced the rope work in the early 1980s.
